Dear friends,
Some folks have shared that the first month of 2026 was not an easy one to stay faithful in truth while facing personal challenges or world events. Our Love Bible lesson promises “Sorrow is salutary.”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 66:9 (only))” That means sorrow is health-giving; beneficial, so we can trust we were moving forward even during our struggles.
Let’s also allow ourselves to begin again…again! Every moment new. Mary Baker Eddy says “The new birth is not the work of a moment. It begins with moments, and goes on with years; moments of surrender to God, of childlike trust and joyful adoption of good; moments of self-abnegation, self-consecration, heaven-born hope, and spiritual love.” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 15:13)
February’s spiritual activities encourage such “moments” as we finish our synonym Bible Lessons – each one with citations referring to child-like surrendering, trust, consecration, joyful gratitude, and so on. Then we close the month studying Christ Jesus’ wonderful moment-to-moment inspirations and demonstrations.
