Nature is vibrant, laughter fills the halls, and healing is part of everyday life. We ask, has God created Broadview for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14)—an uplifting haven and a place to call home for a time.
Protected & Cared For During the LA Fires
It’s hard to believe that just two short years ago Broadview faced an uncertain future. The possibility of closing our doors appeared inevitable. Today we are a thriving refuge, a place of healing and a testament to divine Love’s provision.
The many manifestations of divine Love during the recent LA fires have led us to ask ourselves if God has created Broadview, “for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14.) There is now an expanded vision of Broadview’s purpose…to provide both a spiritual haven for Christian Scientists in need of care, AND a temporary home away from home.
This vision can only become a reality with your support.

Broadview Blessings: We knew that If it was a right idea, God would work out the logistics. We left the details to God even though we didn’t know how we were going to accomplish it. Instead, we decided to [let God] meet the human need in the moment.

The day the LA fires started, the Executive Director of Broadview called a meeting of the staff. It was a normal day but there was a clear prompting from divine Mind. The topic? Emergency evacuations – just in case. Winds had picked up in the area and the city was on high alert for fires. Thankfully, the area surrounding the property had been cleared of brush and debris several months earlier – evidence that divine wisdom was already at work, guarding and guiding this special place.
During the meeting we received the impulse to pray. Little did anyone know that in just a few short hours, a firestorm in a nearby community would begin. As this news reached Broadview, the staff, along with the board members and guests, affirmed steadfastly God’s peace and sovereignty. Despite the chaotic picture the world was presenting, the message that kept repeating itself was, “But we’re safe!” And it proved to be so.
The winds began to recede, and we all felt calm and safe in divine Love’s presence. Love had created a wall of protection around the property. As a result, two different families affected by the fires reached out to Broadview for temporary housing, and their needs were met.
Broadview has demonstrated it is a beacon of safety and refuge to the Christian Science community.
