Dear Friends,
Halfway through last month I realized I hadn’t fully done the April 1st activity of blessing aloud or silently everyone I encountered that week. I decided to do it right then! I combined it with the April 13th activity of noting how “the varied expressions of God“ in our life are reflecting health, holiness, immortality, Life Truth and Love.”
This became a profound exploration of appreciation and affirmation. My cat, flowers, family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, those serving in both the branch and The Mother Church, Christian Science mentors across time, even the memory of a beloved tree next door– so much came to mind. For each, I affirmed God’s favor and protection, offering thanks and praise for knowing them or for recognizing their beautiful expression of God in my life. The time I spent in this way was holy and joyous.
I’m sharing this for two reasons: first, to encourage you to make time for such engagement, and second, to reiterate that these activities, and the prayers they bring forth, are timeless extending far beyond their scheduled dates.
