ABOUT US
Broadview is a Christian Science Nursing facility accredited by The Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc, and a nonprofit corporation and qualified charity under Internal Revenue Service 501(c) (3).
Broadview was established to provide Christian Science nursing care to anyone who chooses to rely exclusively on the truths of Christian Science for healing. We are here to nourish, nurture, cherish and give thoughtful attentiveness to those in need.
Located between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena, overlooking the historic "Arroyo Seco" in the Montecito Heights area, Broadview's grounds are filled with a variety of trees and hundreds of blooming roses, camellias, and other beautiful flowers.
We welcome anyone who comes to Broadview for healing. Christian Science nursing guests must be under the care of a Christian Science practitioner currently listed in The Christian Science Journal.
HISTORY
Broadview was made possible through the love and generosity of the Christian Scientists in Southern California. Several Christian Science teachers and their pupils saw the need for a Christian Science nursing home in this area and began holding meeting in the early 1930s. Construction began in 1946 and Broadview opened its doors in 1947 with thirteen rooms. It was approved by The Mother Church in 1948 as one of the first Christian Science nursing homes in the country. It has continuously served the needs of Christian Scientists ever since and, following several additions, now has 37 rooms. Broadview is accredited by the national Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc., and is a member of the Association for Organizations for Christian Science Nursing. As one of only sixteen U.S. Christian Science nursing facilities that are Medicare providers, Broadview is held to the high standards required of Medicare facilities and is subject to unannounced inspections by federal officials.
Broadview has a 60 year track record of serving students of Christian Science. In addition to providing valuable support to those seeking healing in accordance with the tenets of Christian Science, it has offered programs on such related subjects as the Bible, reading in Christian Science churches, writing for the periodicals, and Sunday School teaching.
Recent Healings
Broadview is all about spiritual healing. It judges its effectiveness by how many patients are served and the extent to which they are healed and go home. And the healings are occurring. Here are excerpts from recent letters of gratitude from both patients and their families.
"With all my heart, I thank you for making my stay at Broadview a home-away-from-home. The joyful care and peaceful atmosphere truly had a healing effect.""I will never be able to express fully my gratitude for the loving care you all gave to my husband. He told me many times how much he appreciated the loving kindness of everyone who helped him."
"Please extend my love and gratitude to those nurses who gave me such tender, loving care. My needs were cheerfully met."
"The family...appreciated the loving, professional, experienced, and Christianly scientific care provided during a challenging experience. All of the staff (administrative, professional, support, et.al.) with whom we came in contact, were very helpful in administering aid and advice in meeting the various challenges we encountered."
